I have been an avid reader of "Art Journaling" magazine published by Stampington for at least a decade now, and each issue continues to inspire and excite me just as much as the first one did. Over the years, I have not only enjoyed the beautiful visuals and creative ideas presented in the magazine but have also been motivated to share my own artistic endeavors. Recently, I took the plunge and submitted a journal to the magazine, and I am beyond thrilled to share that one of them has been selected for a four-page spread in the upcoming Autumn issue, which is set to hit bookstores in October. WooHoo! This is an incredible milestone for me as an artist and a testament to my dedication to the craft. The featured journal, titled "The Purple Majesty Art Journal," holds a special place in my heart. It was crafted with love and intention, specifically for a ladies' Salad Supper event at our church, where the community comes together to share not only food but also fellowship and creativity. This journal is a vibrant tapestry of personal expression, showcasing various elements that reflect my journey and the themes of faith and community. It beautifully incorporates scripture passages that resonate deeply with me, serving as both artistic inspiration and spiritual reflection. Additionally, I have included crowns, which symbolize the royal identity we all share as beloved daughters of the King, and these crowns are artistically rendered throughout the pages, adding a whimsical touch. The fabric used in the journal comes from my daughter's old clothes, making it not only a creative project but also a sentimental one, as it weaves together memories of her childhood with my artistic expression. The color palette predominantly features rich shades of purple and gold, colors that evoke feelings of royalty, richness, and warmth. Each page is a celebration of creativity, faith, and the bonds we share as a community, and I cannot wait to see it in print for others to enjoy and be inspired by.
